Bombatomics Collective is a Web3 charitable organization focused on developing high-impact projects that create online communities, promote cultural diversity and exchange, while also collaborating with and donating 20% of all its proceeds towards charitable organizations.

This project was born at a fraught time in Mexico. It was March 2021, and the public conversation around women's rights and gender-based violence had reached a boiling point. In Mexico City alone, more than 180,000 individuals marched on Women's Day, with violent protests and contentious debates surging around my country. Faced with this atmosphere of aggression and despair, I set out to try to create a project that would not only unite people around its collective vision, but contribute to a progressive and charitable vision around feminism in Mexico. I developed the core idea of “lucha women” who were unafraid, bombastic and unafraid of explicitly going against gender roles or oppressive stereotypes commonly found in Latin America, drawing from our long tradition of lucha libre. With this theme set, I reached out to form a small team, needing the insights from a programmer, illustrator and smart-contract engineer so that this project could be implemented correctly. NFT’s were booming at this point, and I was enthusiastic about delving into this new technology. The team was formed, and thus, Bombatomics, our first 5,000-piece collection, was born.

I led concept and story development, brand system design, art direction, community strategy, and marketplace operations. Through marketing campaigns, PR outreach, and the quality of our product, we won a spot to be one of the first 30 GameStop NFT™ Creators. Upon release in July 2023, we sold out the first day and were able to donate 42 ETH (around $40,000 usd at that time) to Alternativas Pacificas, a women's violence center which has refuges for women feeling violent homes in the north of Mexico. The primary volume of sales that we generated through our first collection was around 210 ETH, which currently holds a value of $942,000.

I cultivated and managed our online communities on Discord and Twitter, organizing interactive events such as giveaways, discussions, and participatory design sessions where members helped shape new “limited-edition” drops. This role was not easy, as maintaining user trust and engagement required constant attention. However, thanks to the success of our first collection, we developed a second collection called Mosaico MX, which showcased the history of Mexico in a non-linear manner. In short, Bombatomics taught me how digital marketplaces function, about the ever-evolving world of cryptocurrency, and how to create IP that people actually connect with.

Congratulations to Bombatomics! Another collection that sold out on the GameStop NFT marketplace... Great to see their project goal is completely funded. Now any sale will just bolster the cause. Anybody else realize the potential here? 🤯
